2018 NFL Draft: Ranking the Top 10 running backs
By Dana Becker
What Bo Scarbrough might lack in terms of versatility, he more than makes up for in the category he excels at.
Scarbrough isn’t going to catch a lot of passes out of the backfield or out-run a member of the secondary. What the 6-foot-2, 235-pounder is going to do, though, is overpower opposing defenders.
Over the past two seasons with Alabama, Scarbrough shared the load with his quarterback and a host of top-ranked prospects. He finished his career with just over 1,500 yards, scoring 20 touchdowns and averaging almost six yards per carry.
While he wasn’t much of a receiver his first two years, he did manage to haul in 17 passes this past season for 109 more yards.
Scarbrough will have to show that he is a durable back, as he carried the ball over 12 times in just four games this past season, with eight games of single-digit carries.
