4. Who steps up as the No. 2 wide receiver?

Baylor has a plethora of solid receivers returning to its 2018 squad such as 1,000-yard contributor Denzel Mims, but he will be absent from the rest of spring practice and Saturday’s scrimmage due to precautionary reasons. He will undoubtedly be the No. 1 receiver for the Bears this fall after catching 61 passes for 1,087 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore.

That begs the question, who will be the No. 2 receiver in 2018?

An early favorite could be Pooh Stricklin who was second on the team last season with 414 yards and a touchdown on 32 receptions. He was followed by Chris Platt who had 16 receptions for 401 yards and five scores. Junior Tony Nicholson was second on the team in receptions (41) for 344 yards. The fifth-leading receiver, Blake Lynch, also returns.

You can’t overlook Tennessee transfer Jalen Hurd, either. He will also miss Saturday’s spring game, but he could be a solid option to become the No. 2 target. Jared Atkinson has the potential to be a star receiver as well.

Who will step up and prove to be the second-best target?
