The most sought after transfer on the open market this off-season could be Alabama football quarterback Jalen Hurts, after what his dad said.

Alabama football got some shocking news coming out of the media world on April 19 as the father of possible starting quarterback Jalen Hurts spoke his mind on the competition for the Crimson Tide. Head Alabama football coach Nick Saban was put into a tough spot after freshman Tua Tagovailoa had such a great performance in the second half of the National Championship that he led the Crimson Tide past the Georgia Bulldogs to win.

In effect, the quarterback that started most of the season for Alabama now has some competition on his hands. Bleacher Report’s Matt Hayes was told by Jalen’s father, Averion Hurts, essentially that he screwed up by opening the door for an opportunity for Tagovailoa.

The Crimson Tide have an extremely good problem on their hands to have two potential Heisman Trophy contenders battling it out for one starting spot. If both Tagovailoa and Hurts are present on the roster by the start of the regular season, then the starter is likely to have a shorter leash.

Saban could even make the decision to split some time between Hurts and Tagovailoa early in the regular season. Alabama does have to have a solid solution in mind for the quarterback puzzle by Week 1, since they have a tough matchup with the Louisville Cardinals waiting for them.

If Hurts were to pull the trigger and ultimately transfer away from Tuscaloosa, he could be one of the biggest names to even hit the open market in college football history. The thought that both Hurts and former Ole Miss Rebels star Shea Patterson hit the market in the same off-season is incredible.

Here are three potential transfer destinations for Jalen Hurts if decides to leave the Alabama Crimson Tide.
