2. How will Tom Herman manage a crowded QB room?

Often times, crowded quarterback rooms are a good thing. This means there is no shortage of quality passers on a team, and that’s the case with Texas. Tom Herman has one of the ‘good’ problems on his hands — for now.

The second the battle is decided, though, the room could get a little less crowded and it’s all about how the coaching staff can manage that quarterback room.

We saw decent doses of both Sam Ehlinger and Shane Buechele in 2017 as the former passed for 1,915 yards and 11 touchdowns and the latter had 1,405 yards and seven scores through the air. That left the door slightly ajar heading into the offseason and now it’s time to make decisions.

However, those two aren’t the only guys on the team at the position.

In fact, incoming freshmen Casey Thompson and Cameron Rising are both early enrollees and four-star prospects. Could they feel as if the quarterback room is too crowded and feel the transfer itch following spring ball?

We will soon find out.
