There is no reason why Arkansas football should miss a bowl game for the second consecutive season with more than 15 returning starters coming back.

Arkansas football exits spring practice in an interesting spot compared to the rest of the SEC West. They had a solid spring game, by all accounts, with first-year head coach Chad Morris at the helm. The new look Razorbacks offensive scheme seems to be running fine, depending on who gets the starting quarterback nod come Week 1 of the 2018 campaign.

With a few questions still left to answer come fall, the Razorbacks have some time to reflect on the progress made during spring drills. It’s also a good time for them to observe the rest of what’s going on around the SEC West. The Texas A&M Aggies might have the most hype coming out of all the spring games, and they’ll be a similar program to that of Arkansas this year.

All things considered, Arkansas could become one of the most improved teams in the nation this season. They had a tremendously disappointing record in 2017, in the final year with Bret Bielema at the helm. Arkansas wound up with just four wins last season, falling way short of postseason eligibility.

The biggest questions still left to be answered for the Hogs mainly involved the quarterback competition. That likely won’t be answered until the fall comes around, but it’s certainly a storyline to pay attention to for the rest of the off-season.

Mainly, Arkansas needs to improve the defense from how poor it was a season ago. The Hogs couldn’t stop much no matter who they were playing.

Here’s a look at how high the ceiling for the Razorbacks could be this season.
