Is there any hope for Texas A&M football to make a run at the SEC Championship Game in 2018? It’s up to the offense to get them there.

Texas A&M football has their stock very high at this moment, after a solid showing in their annual spring game at Kyle Field. First-year head coach Jimbo Fisher has already done a lot of good things to move the program forward, and potentially maximize all the Aggies’ talent on both sides of the ball.

Since first joining the SEC, the Aggies have found nothing really but mediocre results come through. Texas A&M became accustomed to strong starts, just to see that fade off down the stretch later in the same regular season slate. That should finally change here in 2018.

With a new look offense, and decent amount of returning production coming back on defense, the Aggies are ready to have a bigger impact on the SEC West picture in 2018. They could now compete with the likes of the LSU Tigers and Auburn Tigers. If Fisher can really take the Aggies to the next level, Texas A&M could give the Alabama Crimson Tide a tough test too.

The Aggies still have a few questions to answer before they can claim stake to the title of a true dark horse for the College Football Playoff. Considering how strong the SEC West should be in 2018, Texas A&M has issues to iron out on both sides of the ball still. That includes restocking the secondary and receiving corps, deciding the quarterback competition, and finding new leaders to step up.

Texas A&M did also have some key departures on both sides of the ball that could hurt this year. Considering these factors, here’s a look at the ceiling for the Texas A&M Aggies in 2018.
