Stanford Football 2018 Mock Draft: Which Cardinal will be drafted?
After sharing the line with former first round pick Solomon Thomas, Harrison Phillips was given free rein for the Cardinal in 2017. The results were tremendous. He tallied 7.5 sacks and 17 tackles for a loss, dominating from the interior of the defensive line. His motor is incredible, making up for any deficiencies he might have as an athlete.
Phillips is the type of player that might not fit the traditional mold anywhere along the line but simply finds a way to make plays. Defensive coordinator Don Martindale will be able to use Phillips as a true utility player, putting him on the field in key third down plays when his team needs to find a way to make a stop.
Not many players find ways to make plays from the defensive interior with as much frequency as Phillips. A slippery rusher, Phillips lined up in front of Terrell Suggs and Matt Judon could make an alright strong Ravens’ front seven even better.
