Alabama Football NFL Mock Draft 2018: Where will Crimson Tide land?
Alabama being Alabama yet again, you’d expect them to have some great players on offer for this year’s NFL draft. Here’s a breakdown of where some of these talented players might go.
Alabama always gets outstanding talent. Coach Nick Saban and his crew are brilliant recruiters, and the Tide always lands a recruiting class in the top five. This talent generates a myriad of first-round NFL draft selections.
This year’s draft will showcase the Tide’s talented group of defensive backs. Indeed, Alabama may set a record this year if all five of its defensive backs get drafted. This isn’t a surprise — Saban is known for his aptitude in developing defensive backs.
Since 2011, Bama has had at least one DB taken in the first round of the NFL Draft and has had 14 defensive backs drafted since 2008. For young players just starting out, playing football for Bama may be the most direct route to NFL glory. Over the last three years, Alabama and Ohio State are tied for the number of draft picks, with 24 each.
Alabama breeds NFL prospects like an alley cat does kittens, and this year is no exception, with 16 players up for the draft in 2018. Of those, at least four are projected to go in the first round.
This year, Alabama has some defensive superstars on offer, including defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne, and cornerback Levi Wallace. The latter may be a bit of a dark-horse contender, but he should get swept up in the later rounds.
