Texas football extended an offer to three-star defensive end Zach Williams during an unofficial visit for the spring game.
The Texas Longhorns offered three-star weak-side defensive end Zach Williams on April 21 during his unofficial visit to campus.
The junior from Little Rock, Ark., boasts offers from 22 schools including Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, and Georgia. Currently his predictions per 247Sports project him staying home and playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks but I spoke with Williams on Monday and he had some great things to say about the 40 acres.
In his own words:
"“I really liked what I saw at Texas on Saturday. It was great to meet Coach Herman and Coach Giles is absolutely incredible. Texas is now one of the top schools on my list. I plan to return to Texas soon. So far as other schools that I am planning to visit; I’m going to Georgia, Tennessee, Cal Berkeley and I plan to see a few other as well.”"
Williams is ranked as the No. 6 WDE in his state and No. 42 for his position. The Longhorns have six DE on roster and one commit already in 2019 T’Vondre Sweat.
Per MaxPreps during the 2017 season at Joe T. Robinson, Williams recorded 65 total tackles, 28 of those being for a loss, and averaged 5.9 tackles per game.
Williams also recorded 11 sacks, three fumble recoveries, and 80 recovery yards.
Arkansas will be hard for the Longhorns to beat for William’s talents, his father was a linebacker for the Razorbacks in the 1980s. If Texas and Tom Herman are able to woo him from the legacy calling they will be getting a 6-4, 220-pound solid prospect.

His 40-yard dash time is 4.57 seconds, has a 82-inch wingspan, and a 36-inch vertical jump. His size alone will prepare him for playing time in the Big 12.
