NFL Draft 2018: Taven Bryan a short-term fit with Jacksonville
Jacksonville decided to address the defensive side of the ball in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft in local prospect Taven Bryan. Is this a good fit?
Taven Bryan was a bit of unknown to the regular NFL fan before tonight. But, the Jacksonville Jaguars took a chance on him with the 29th overall pick in the first round. He put up solid numbers last season with the Gators, recording 37 total tackles along with six tackles for loss and four sacks from his defensive tackles position.
Jaguars coach Doug Marone took a chance with Bryan perhaps being a developing player with the 29th pick
Does he fit in Jacksonville?
Short term, Bryan will likely not see the field very often in the early part of his career as he seems more of a long-term project rather than a plug-and-play kind of guy. Long term, he may turn out to be a very good player for the Jaguars. he has the frame to build on and bulk up to make him a true interior lineman in the NFL.

Bryan has the potential and the frame to be a good interior lineman in the NFL, but right now he just needs to sit back and learn. However, he couldn’t have a better defense to learn from as the Jaguars posses one of the league’s top defense and are led by linemen such as Calais Campbell and Malik Jackson. He could payoff in the future for Doug Marrone and company.
