Pick Analysis. Running Back. Penn State. Blair Thomas. 5. player. Scouting Report. 30

Blair Thomas was drafted by the New York Jets with the second overall selection in the 1990 NFL Draft. Thomas was one of many Penn State draft busts at the running back position over the years alongside Kii-Jana carter, D.J. Dozier, and Curtis Enis.

The 5-10, 186-pound Thomas was a bit undersized for the NFL back in the three yards and a cloud of dust 21 personnel days of the league. While at Penn State, Thomas was named second-team All-American in 1989 and the Senior Bowl MVP in 1990. Over his career at PSU, Thomas amassed 3,301 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Thomas was drafted to the forever suffering Jets franchise and never materialized into much in the NFL. He played on the Jets from 1990-93, before stops in Dallas, New England and Carolina. He totaled 2,236 yards rushing and seven touchdowns over his career while averaging 4.2 yards per carry.

After his football playing career ended, Thomas spent eight seasons coaching running backs at Temple for the Owls. He helped produce a pair of NFL running backs while at Temple from 1998-2005.
