The wide receiver class in the 2018 NFL Draft was poor, at best. Calvin Ridley, DJ Moore, Christian Kirk and Courtland Sutton all project as solid NFL starters, but the majority of the class lacks the wow factor that previous groups have had. There wasn’t really a super-star caliber prospect that could become the next Julio Jones or Mike Evans.

The 2019 class has a superstar wide receiver: Ole Miss junior AJ Brown. In spite of all of the off the field distractions surrounding the Ole Miss program last season, Brown went off for 1,252 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. He set the single-season receiving record for the Rebels in 2017.

Brown is a playmaker that runs excellent routes. He dominated the SEC, filled with some of the best defensive backs in the country, many of which are NFL-bound. The 6-foot-1, 225 pound wideout checks every box that NFL teams will be looking at is only starting to fill out his potential. Brown is due for another big year next season, which he should parlay into a top selection if he decides to leave early for the draft.
