2018 NFL Draft: 10 most important numbers from the draft
The 2018 NFL Draft has come to an end and it was just as surprising as expected. Hear are ten numbers that best tell the story of this draft class.

1 – Number of Big 12 players drafted in the first round. Baker Mayfield was the first pick of the draft, but he was only player from his conference selected on the first night.
2 – Number of Griffin brothers on the Seattle Seahawks after they selected Shaquem Griffin in the fifth round, the brother of Seattle corner Shaquill Griffin.
3 – Number of quarterbacks drafted in the seventh round, starting with the “future successor to Tom Brady” when the New England Patriots selected former LSU quarterback Danny Etling.
4 – Number of first round picks from Alabama including Minkah Fitzpatrick (No. 11, Dolphins), Da’Ron Payne (No. 13, Redskins), Rashaan Evans (Titans, No. 22) and Calvin Ridley (No. 26, Falcons)
5 – Number of quarterbacks selected in the first round. That’s the most since five were taken in the first round in 1999.
6 – Number of specialists selected, beginning with Michael Dickson who was drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round. Four punters were selected as well as two kickers.
7 – Number of former NC State players selected in the draft including the entire defensive line. That was the second most selection from any school this year; Alabama had 12.
8 – Number of trades the New England Patriots made in the 2018 NFL Draft. It seemed like every time they were on the clock they flipped the pick for more picks in the future. Not every time, just eight.
9 – Number of consecutive years in which at least one player former Alabama Crimson Tide player has been selected in the first round
