It’s been two full seasons since Johnny Manziel threw his last NFL pass. Manziel left the Cleveland Browns in 2015 before spending the entirety of the 2016 and 2017 seasons away from football. That’s given him time to do some soul searching and put some serious thought as to what he wants his future to look like, both on and off the field.
Johnny Manziel has thrown at two spring days. He participated in two exhibition games with the Spring League. His intentions are crystal clear. Now all that remains to be seen is what NFL teams will do with his attempted comeback.
The baggage that Manziel carries with him is significant, but so are his talent at the quarterback position. He’s not for everyone, but there are more than one NFL team out there that have a needs which Manziel can fill. Those teams had the opportunity to address their deficiencies in the draft, but not all of them chose to do so.
