Nick Broeker has firmly planted himself on the radar of the Michigan State football staff as they recruit the 2019 class.

Nick Broeker is a 6-foot-5, 275 pound offensive tackle from Springfield Illinois. Broeker attends one of the top programs in the state, Sacred Heart Griffin. They have won five state titles and finished runner up for the championship another five times in program history.

Broeker received a offer from Michigan State on April 24. After receiving the offer from Michigan State, Broeker became one of the top offensive line targets on the Michigan State coaches recruiting board.

In his film, you see a offensive lineman who has a great frame, athleticism, great feet, and uses his hands well. He is a natural hip bender and shows great ability to get to the second level to create big plays.

Broeker is a lineman who can project anywhere across the offensive line, a trait Michigan State offensive line coach Mark Staten looks for in his linemen. It is a valuable skillset to have and it allows guys to better understand what everyone’s blocking responsibilities are. Another factor is playing in the trenches, is a brutal job, where injuries can happen. Having the depth and ability to slide positions helps to keep the line cohesive and effective.

Michigan State is viewed as one of, if not the top team on Broeker’s list of teams. Of the 20 offers Broeker has received, teams like the home state program Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky and Minnesota are viewed as some of the top teams for his services. Broeker is planning a Michigan State visit in May, where he can get a even better feel for the Michigan State coaches and get to see campus and the facilities. Keep an eye out for further updates on Broeker and Michigan State.
