Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. player. 31. Missouri Tigers. Drew Lock. 2

The quarterback position is up in the air a bit for the 2019 class, but a true gunslinger in Mizzou Tigers’ Drew Lock is a great move to be the first one selected. Lock could end up with a team like the New York Giants at the next level where he’ll have a natural bridge to a starting role.

Eli Manning is definitely on his way out with the Giants, and it’s only a matter of time before they find the quarterback of the future for the franchise. Lock has a big arm that can instantly connect with weapons like Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, etc.

In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Giants invested the second overall pick into former Penn State Nittany Lions running back Saquon Barkley. Since many considered Barkley a “once in a generation” sort of talent out of the backfield, it was good for the Giants to go after him.

However, now it’s time to turn the attention of the front office to the most important position on the roster. We should recognize Eli for all he’s done for this franchise, winning two very improbable Super Bowls. Yet, now it’s right about that time to move on.
