3. Vision and speed

Taylor isn’t really one to dance around. He’s the type of runner that primarily operates downhill, but also has a keen awareness that allows him to bounce another direction to evade the defense. Behind one of the top offensive lines in the country, Taylor has the vision to find the gap to hit hard and fast.

His ability to find a hole quick allows him the separation to gain huge chunks of yardage before any defender is even able to adjust their pursuit angle to catch up to him.

Taylor definitely has a speed element to his game as well as he explodes out of the backfield. If and when he finds open green, he engages in a foot race with the secondary. That resulted in a touchdown 13 times for the young back last season.

According to his draftscout.com recruiting profile, Taylor’s 40-yard dash time was measured at a low of 4.42 and a high of 4.60 making his average sit around a 4.51.

To put that in perspective, Saqoun Barkley, the No. 2 overall pick in the latest NFL Draft, ran a low of a 4.40 flat 40-yard dash time. This means Taylor is capable of running at the same speed as a top-5 draft pick, thus making his ceiling almost exponentially high with at least two more years at the college level.
