Oklahoma State Football: Q&A with overlooked JUCO transfer Amadou Fofana
A recent signee for Oklahoma State football, Amadou Fofana, could have himself a big year for the Cowboys’ defense in 2018.
Oklahoma State football generally competes among the top half of the programs around the Big 12 on the recruiting trail. Yet, the head football coach of the Cowboys Mike Gundy knows how to develop underrated talent, especially by way of the JUCO route.
Incoming recruits that can make an instant impact are well accepted in Stillwater, OK, considering how fast they can help the Pokes get back into contention in the Big 12 standings. For the 2019 recruiting class, Oklahoma State is off to a solid start with a group ranked in the top 35 in the nation and top six in the Big 12, according to 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
One of the latest commitments for Oklahoma State in the 2018 class, that officially capped the group at 25 signees, was three-star defensive lineman Amadou Fofana. As a Memphis, TN, native, Fofana strayed off a bit from home to attend Highland Community College and then commit to Oklahoma State.
He’ll join a solid incoming class of defensive lineman for the Pokes that will be a part of an already deep line as is. Fofana is an underrated recruit that did hold some other big offers from programs like the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon State Beavers, and Memphis Tigers.
We were able to catch up with one of Oklahoma State’s newest defensive lineman in Amadou Fofana and get a little bit more understanding of his background and fit with his new program.
