The Quinton Flowers era has ended for USF football after unprecedented success. Who’s going to get the first shot at replacing him in the fall?

Quinton Flowers came to USF in 2014 as one of the most highly-touted recruits in program history, and he more than lived up to the billing.

In three seasons as the Bulls’ starting quarterback, he rewrote the program’s record book, throwing for 8,124 yards, running for 3,672 more, and accounting for 112 total touchdowns. He departs as the American Athletic Conference’s all-time leader in total yards and touchdowns, and most importantly, posted a 30-9 record as a starter.

He’s off to the NFL now — landing with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent — leaving behind some massive shoes to fill.

Who are the most likely candidates to succeed Flowers as starter in 2018? We’ve evaluated each option here, and handicapped how likely it is that they’ll be lined up under center for the Bulls’ opener against Elon on Sept. 1.
