The trend of flashy takes on uniforms in college football has been on the upswing within the last few years. Who has the best outfit in the game?
Following up on the top 10 traditional college uniforms, it only felt right to create a countdown on the top 10 modern uniforms. This list includes mostly alternate uniforms, but also threads that are worn once a year and uniforms that have only been featured for one specific game.
Each year, new designs are churned out as teams are beginning to take the field in style. With that being said, here is the unveiling of the top 10 modern college football uniforms.
Recently, Clemson has been a top dog in college football and the Tigers have national championship appearances in two of the last three seasons to back that up. They also have a sweet orange and purple color combination to go along with it.
While Clemson normally wears orange or white uniforms, once a year, the Tigers roll out in their purple jersey and pants once per year, and it’s a fantastic use of their secondary color.
The special uniforms don’t differ much from the design of Clemson’s predominant uniform pattern. The uniform pretty much just flips the colors of the original, but the all purple look is one that most teams would never be able to pull off.
The classic orange helmet goes well with the all purple and a nice touch to the jerseys is the orange pawprint seen on the top of the shoulders of the jersey.
Clemson rocks the purple well and maybe, these jerseys are too nice to only break out once in a blue moon.
