Michigan State football coaches will be hosting a couple major targets for official visits this weekend including a pair of coveted 2019 recruits.
Michigan State football coaches will be very busy this weekend. Not only are they hosting their elite camp this weekend, they will also be hosting two big-time visitors for their official visits: 3-star defensive lineman Jalen Hunt (Bellville High School, Michigan) and 4-star cornerback Jaden Davis (St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Florida).
Jalen Hunt is a super athletic defensive lineman who projects as a defensive tackle in college. He is so quick and athletic that he even plays running back on offense for his high school team. Hunt is currently 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds. He has the frame and body type to add more good weight while trimming down at the same time. He overwhelms offensive lineman with his speed and explosive first step.
Jaden Davis is a guy who the Michigan State coaches have been recruiting for a long time. He received his offer from Michigan State on May 2, 2017. Davis, who plays for powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida, is an elite athlete who locks down his man in coverage. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound corner is also very physical, and loves to tackle, even for a smaller guy. His speed and ability to flip his hips in coverage is at an elite level.
The competition for Jalen Hunt seems to be down to a top two of Michigan State and Iowa. Some people believe Michigan State leads, while others believe it’s Iowa. Jaden Davis has schools like Miami and Oklahoma as major players for his services. Michigan State is viewed as a dark horse team in his recruitment, but Miami has filled up with a lot of defensive backs already in this class, and Mark Dantonio has stayed very consistent in his recruitment of Davis.

Getting both Hunt and Davis on campus not only gives them both a chance to see the campus, and develop a stronger relationship with coaches. Having the elite camp also lets the players get a chance to see how they would be coached by the staff if they decided to play at Michigan State.
