Many different things contribute to a pleasant day of college football viewing. Good teams, good weather, good fans – these are all important. But here I propose a theory: perhaps nothing is as important to the college football experience as good uniforms.
A good uniform is what separates the brown-and-yellow disaster of Wyoming from the powder-blue-and-gold majesty of UCLA. The clashing crimson and blue of the Iron Bowl is a defining part of the experience; the purple and yellow in Baton Rogue adds to LSU’s mystique. Michigan’s helmets are the quintessential symbol of college football for many fans.
