Back in the day, the Bearcats used to wear some delightfully wacky red-and-black uniforms that just screamed “mid-2000s”.  A bit campy, but by and large a fun look. They looked like uniforms that you’d design in NCAA Football 2006’s create-a-team feature, and anything that reminds me of the NCAA Football series is a huge plus.

They’ve streamlined things since then, which isn’t necessarily bad, but it isn’t really exciting either. The logo and the helmets are great, but the all-blacks pictured above fall into the same trap of every single all-black uniform ever, which is to say that they are boring. Occasionally the Bearcats will rock this look with red jerseys or red pants, which makes it much better.

Cincy has a good logo and a good color scheme. They can make good uniforms out of this. Bring back the wackiness, Bearcats. We know that you still have it in you, somewhere.
