Alabama football was the latest to offer a massive 8th-grader Kiyaunta Goodwin and others have joined the queue. What’s next, recruiting toddlers?

When I was an incoming freshman in high school, I was more worried about what concerts were going to hit the Daytona Beach bandshell that year and whether my hair was big enough to be cool.  (Don’t laugh–that was the height *snicker* of awesome back then, I swear.) I certainly wasn’t worried about college yet.

Kiyaunta Goodwin has no such small, naive hopes for his high school career. The incoming freshman already has a stellar college trajectory mapped out for himself. Goodwin, who at 14 years old stands 6-foot-7 and 370 pounds, has received offers from no less than seven schools, including Georgia, Florida State, Louisville, Kentucky and others.

Now Nick Saban has joined the fray. The legendary coach became the latest to offer Goodwin a scholarship:

Cripes.  The kid hasn’t even stepped foot on the high school gridiron and he is already a star. He’s bigger than some NFL lineman, and he’s not even done growing. The kid is going to be the size of a small building at this rate.

According to Bleacher Report, Goodwin can’t even practice with his teammates.

"“Because of his size, Goodwin does not match up with players his own age during drills. Instead, he’ll go up against Stephen Herron Jr.—one of the most coveted defensive ends in the country. Herron, a Michigan commit, is the No. 5 weak-side defensive end in the Class of 2019.”"

Herron says of him, “He’s going to be the No. 1 tackle in the nation. It’s just not fair to be that big and that strong at his age.”

According to his coaches, Goodwin can leg press 1,000 pounds and bench press 315 pounds. By the time he’s finished the kid will basically be throwing Toyotas around to get a good workout in. Commit his name to memory, y’all, because Kiyaunta Goodwin will be in the NFL.  We’ll just have to see where he ends up in colleg, because that team is going to have a great four seasons.
