3. EA’s NCAA Football ’08

EA’s NCAA Football ’08  increased the graphics and added the mode of Campus Legends. The first major change was the new Campus Legends mode where you start off as a high school player and work your way through the high school playoffs. The fact that in this mode you no longer control the entire team, just your player, made it unique to not only college football games but to the PS3 as well.

Another great feature of ’08 was the auto-motion in the playbook. After years of having to ignore plays like jet sweeps and the entire Flexbone playbook the spread offenses of the day and the triple option, like ran at Navy, were finally purposeful. As a fan of the Naval Academy and their triple-option offense, this was perfect for me to build a quarterback and try to win the Heisman Trophy on campus in Annapolis.

Recruiting features were improved and there were brand new animations such as gang tackling which made the game look and feel legitimate. New offensive hot routes, audibles and defensive options changed the game from being clunky into feeling like college football.
