Michigan State football has landed elite five-star offensive tackle, Devontae Dobbs from Bellville (Mich.) High School.

Michigan State football coaches landed one of, if not the biggest target on their recruiting board when Devontae Dobbs gave the Spartan coaches his commitment.

Dobbs is a five-star offensive tackle who checks in at 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds. He is an elite athlete from the offensive line position, he has very good speed and athleticism to get out and pull block, or to get out in front to set up a screen pass. Dobbs slides his feet well and bends at the hips naturally. He is a fierce competitor who plays through the whistle.

Landing Dobbs is one of the biggest recruiting wins for Michigan State football coaches in the Mark Dantonio era. He had offers from elite programs across the country. He chose Michigan State over offers from Alabama, Auburn, USC, Ohio State, Clemson and many others. The commitment sends shock waves across the country.

Dobbs, from Bellville High School in Michigan, joins his 2019 teammate Julian Barnett, a four-star athlete, at Michigan State. Other former Bellville players on the Michigan State roster are 2018 defensive back Davion Williams who will be a freshman this year, and Jahz Watts a walk-on wide receiver. Their coach Jermaine Crowell is one of the best coaches in the state at developing athletically gifted young men, and making them great players.

The five-star tackle is the eleventh player to commit to the Spartans and the fourth offensive linemen. The momentum of Dobbs commitment could create a domino effect in the Spartans recruiting class. Look for even more big names to pop soon.
