3. A Clean Killer

While performing under pressure can tell you a lot about a quarterback, one’s ability to play consistently well in a clean pocket can tell you just as much, if not more. Throughout his career, Trace McSorley has seized every moment he has had when given a clean pocket and the numbers don’t lie.

According to Pro Football Focus, among 105 returning FBS quarterbacks, when facing unpressured drop backs McSorley ranks fifth in completions (236), sixth in yards and touchdowns (2990 & 27) and third in passer rating (125.4).

Trace McSorley has a killer’s instinct when the ball is in his hands and more time in the pocket will only bring out the best in him. Although he’s unfazed by pressure, sending an extra man in wouldn’t hurt or else McSorley will take full advantage of a clean pocket and perform at a high rate.
