3. Trayveon Williams is serious dark horse Heisman candidate

Don’t laugh at this one, but Trayveon Williams is a serious dark horse Heisman candidate. Judging by how well he performed as a true freshman, he has the potential to be one of the best backs in the country, if not the top rusher in the SEC in 2018.

Williams’ 5-foot-9, 200-pound frame makes him a load to bring down and that was never more evident than in 2016 when he rushed for 1,057 yards and eight touchdowns on 6.8 yards per touch. He took a step back in 2017 thanks to some nagging injuries.

In fact, Williams only finished with 733 yards and seven touchdowns, but Jimbo Fisher is going to utilize his workhorse back more than Kevin Sumlin did.

The Aggies are going to have to rely on Williams to reach at least 200 carries this season and if he gets back to his freshman ways, he could approach the 1,500-yard mark.

Not only will Texas A&M have a healthy quarterback with experience, but also a running back worthy of Heisman consideration. This offense will be scary.
