2. Brandon Wimbush will improve as passer

We all know Brandon Wimbush can run. In fact, he’s one of the best running quarterbacks in all of college football, accounting for 766 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 2017.

Unfortunately, he lost some playing time near the end of the year to Ian Book because his passing ability never progressed. He finished the season with 1,818 yards and 16 touchdowns, but he completed less than 50 percent of his passes which is unacceptable for a starter in the college ranks.

There’s nowhere to go but up for the junior quarterback who waited patiently for DeShone Kizer to leave in order to take over as the No. 1 quarterback. He has another year of experience under his belt and knows what it takes to be a quality passer and maintain that starting job throughout the season.

Even if he’s able to improve his accuracy 5-7 percent this season, he could become one of the better dual-threats in the land. Teams will begin to take his arm seriously, forcing them to drop back into coverage rather than spy him.

We will see an improved Wimbush this season, and honestly, that could be all the difference.
