Michigan State football coaches have let three-star defensive lineman MJ Anderson know he is a priority. And he’s feeling the love.

Michigan State football coaches have landed a lot of their top targets for the 2019 class, and are looking to finish off the class strong with a select few priority recruits. One of those recruits is three-star defensive lineman MJ Anderson.

Anderson is a 6-foot-4 260-pound defensive lineman from St Louis, Missouri who attends powerhouse Christian Brothers College High School. Anderson is rated a three-star right now, but is a high-end prospect whose talent level is even higher. Anderson missed his junior season with a broken femur. He’s healthy now and should climb the rankings even higher after a strong senior season.

Anderson is an athletically gifted player who shows great discipline setting the edge forcing the play inside before he uses an elite burst to tackle the ball carrier. He is a very gifted pass rusher, he uses a very explosive first step to get past the lineman and get to the quarterback. He shows a great motor and ferocity on the field.

Michigan State football coaches want Anderson to play a little bit of everything. They see him as a guy who can play anywhere across the defensive line, while also having the ability to stand up and play outside linebacker. There are not many guys who combine the size, strength and speed to play across the line while standing up at the backer position, Anderson is one of those guys.

I asked Anderson when he was planning to visit Michigan State he told me “I’m waiting to get back with the coaches after they’re back from their vacations, I’ll definitely make it up to East Lansing.” Anderson is most likely going to be able to make it up sometime shortly after the dead season ends, but nothing will be official until him and the coaches can set up a date.

When asked about Michigan State he told me “I love their coaches, we’ve gotten closer over the months. They have been understanding and stuck by me through the healing process. I appreciate the support from them.” Anderson already has a pretty good relationship with a few of the commits in the Spartans 2019 class, he even got a shout out from five-star Michigan State football commit Devonte Dobbs on Twitter asking Spartan fans to show Anderson love. Anderson’s reply back to Michigan State fans is “Go Green!”

Anderson has over twenty offers already, some of the notable offers he has received besides Michigan State are from Notre Dame, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Carolina, Purdue and Kentucky. My gut feeling from Anderson is that Michigan State is viewed as one of his top teams, if not the top team for his services. Stay tuned for future updates on MJ Anderson and the Spartans.
