Explaining his game to me, Saxton told me “a true pro-style, no matter the situation, always finds a solution QB, who just happens to run a 4.6 forty.” I mentioned that it sounded similar to current quarterback Brian Lewerke, and asked if he has watched him play. He told me he has, and does see similarities in their playing styles as well. Coach Dantonio loves a true pro-style quarterback that can extend the play when it breaks down, Saxton checks the box there.

Michigan State quarterback coach Brad Salem is the main recruiter for Saxton, but a lot of the coaches have recently followed him on social media. Saxton gave me his thoughts on Michigan State.

"MSU would be a wonderful place to continue my football career, as I do more research on MSU I find out there is so much more than just great football that Michigan State has to offer. The coaching staff is good people, and the fans are the best in the Big Ten, if not the country. I would be honored to visit Michigan State after the dead period. I would just love to see what the best college in Michigan has to offer!"

Saxton has also done his homework on the Michigan State 2019 recruiting class.

"I have checked out the recruiting class, and needless to say I am blown away. With the recent commitment of Devonte Dobbs, along with Spencer Brown, Nick Samac and Damon Kaylor, the offense is on the right track for success.” Saxton has already spoken with a lot of the guys committed to Michigan State to get a feel for the type of guys they are as well as their thoughts on Michigan State football and the coaches. “They are a very good and exciting group of guys."
