West Virginia football has undergone some major changes to its roster. However, these players have made waves and are primed for breakout campaigns.

It happens every year, a previously unknown player bursts on to the scene and steals the spotlight. Last season, it was wide receiver David Sills V and linebacker Al-Rasheed Benton for the Mountaineers. Neither player was new to the program, but both capitalized when an opportunity presented itself.

And just like other schools, West Virginia is left replacing players like Benton and others all over the depth chart. Benton led the team in tackles, while wide receiver Ka’Raun White added a dozen receiving touchdowns. Running back Justin Crawford won’t be in the backfield either, leaving many touches to be had all over the offense.

Who will get all those leftover carries and targets? Can one player replace Benton’s production from the middle of WVU’s defense? Or will it have to be done by committee?

The good thing about a Dana Holgorsen-led program is that there’s no shortage of talent. Whether the rest of the country believes in their talent is irrelevant; Holgorsen gets the most out of his guys.
