Last season, the Boilermakers posted a winning record for the first time since 2011. The fans are hoping for continued improvement on the field, but despite the recent rough times, Boilermaker fans still love their tailgating.

Students and alums start Saturday game day mornings early. Around six in the morning, they can be found in crazy costumes and heading to the bars, forming what is called “The Breakfast Club”. If the crazy, packed bar scene is not for you, check out Slayter Hill where most of the tailgating fans can be found firing up their grills and socializing about the team. The Purdue All-American Marching Band performs pre-game and do not miss the “Big Bass Drum”.

While Purdue has not been in the national conversation since the days of Drew Brees, they are getting better under second-year coach Jeff Brohm. Their tailgating traditions are some of the best in the Big Ten.
