3. Tevin Bush, Wide Receiver | Sophomore

The wide receiver’s room in Morgantown is almost always filled with talent. This year, they’ll boast David Sills and Gary Jennings, along with Marcus Simms, T.J. Simmons and Dominique Maiden. It’s time to add Tevin Bush to that list.

Bush, who was listed as a running back his first season on campus, made the move to inside receiver during spring practices. Listed at only 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds, the Louisiana-native might remind Mountaineer fans of a former short, speedy receiver named Tavon Austin.

I’m not projecting Bush to duplicate Austin’s production, but he could be used in a similar fashion. Quick slants, wide receiver screens, some jet sweep action — these are all avenues to get the ball in the hands of an elite playmaker.

Bush didn’t get many opportunities as a freshman, finishing with only 20 carries for 81 yards and four catches for 15 yards. The thing about Bush is that it doesn’t take a whole lot to get him going. One simple mistake by the defense and a 6-yard reception could turn into a 60-yard score.
