Michigan State football has 15 commitments in the 2019 recruiting class and is expected to reach around 20 by the end of the cycle. Which players could be next?

Michigan State only has a handful of spots left in their 2019 recruiting class but several options as to which players could fill those scholarships. Here are the ten most likely candidates to be Spartans by the time the 2019 class is finalized next February.

The recruiting dead period ends on July 24. Don’t be surprised if a few surprises pop up, however, here are the guys most likely to fill out the rest of the Spartans’ recruiting class as of right now.

1. Sam Saxton

Saxton is a 6-foot-5, 195-pound quarterback from Texas. Saxton is a mobile pro-style quarterback who shows great pocket presence and delivers an accurate ball on time. Saxton is a very intelligent player who can read a defense and shows great leadership traits. Saxton appears to be the top quarterback target for the Michigan State football coaches. He is planning to visit East Lansing on July 31 where an offer is likely if he checks all the boxes for the coaches.

2. JD Duplain

Duplain is a 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive lineman from Strongsville, Ohio. Duplain is a very physical lineman who plays with a nasty streak. He could even project to defensive tackle, but I would expect him to play on the offensive side of the ball at Michigan State.

Duplain is the last remaining target for the coaches on the offensive line which currently has four linemen committed. Duplain has already visited Michigan State multiple times and is looking to make a decision before his season starts.
