Arkansas football was picked to finish dead last in the SEC West in 2018. Their 412 total points in the voting narrowly edged out Vanderbilt’s total of 392, making the Hogs the second-lowest esteemed school in a conference that has produced five College Football Playoff participants in the last four seasons.
The Playoff is light years away from an Arkansas program that needs to first find a way to get back to bowl eligibility. But even that could be a stretch for the Razorbacks in 2018. Instead of setting out lofty ideals new hed coach Chad Morris and his staff need to chart a long-term plan for sustained success.
