Head football coach of Independence Community College Jason Brown brought a lot of top talent to his program that was highlighted on Last Chance U.
With the release of the newest part of the hit Netflix series Last Chance U, a new set of junior college recruits will take center stage at the next stage of their careers in 2018. Independence Community College, the focus of Part 3 of Last Chance U, had a ton of FBS talent on the roster for the 2017 season.
This part of the Netflix series took part for the 2017 NJCAA season, so a handful of the players on that roster will be suiting up for FBS programs this fall. In fact, the fourth ranked overall prospect in the 2018 JUCO recruiting rankings was four-star offensive lineman Tramonda Moore who signed with the Oklahoma Sooners.
Originally, Moore had committed to the Oklahoma State Cowboys out of high school. However, he was just one example of numerous extremely talented players that made it to a good destination after their time at Independence. The same could be said for the 2019 recruiting cycle too.
Independence has two JUCO recruits listed as four-star prospects for the 2019 cycle. The program also had two listed as four-stars for the 2018 cycle. We could see some big names from Independence come through for the 2018 college football season at the Power Five conference level.
It could also take some players one year to settle in. Most of these players have two years of eligibility left at the FBS level. Both the 2018 and 2019 seasons could be huge for some of the more talented and focused Independence alumni.
Here’s a look at the three former Independence standouts also from the hit series “Last Chance U” that can make the biggest impact at their new schools.
