Let’s move on to the former Last Chance U players from ICC or EMCC that are now about to compete at the Power Five conference level this fall. The first player listed here is also the only offensive player in the Arkansas Razorbacks three-star JUCO signee Rakeem Boyd.

Starting out his college career with the Texas A&M Aggies, Boyd has now made his way back to competing in the SEC West. This division might be the best spot for talented running backs like Boyd trying to prove themselves. Boyd will definitely have the spotlight on him if he gets early playing time with the Hogs in 2018.

In his time with ICC, Boyd was a stud rushing for more than 1,200 yards and nearly 15 touchdowns. He took control of the backfield over his competition in the former Michigan Wolverines running back Kingston Davis and Jamal Scott.

Boyd joins a stable of running backs in the initial season under the direction of head Arkansas football coach Chad Morris. That stable of running backs will feature junior Devwah Whaley at the start of the regular season. Yet, Boyd should have already proved himself enough to earn some carries in difficult and clutch situations over the likes of T.J. Hammonds and Chase Hayden. Take complete advantage of the role that he’s given, and Boyd could find himself fighting for a roster spot in the NFL before the 2020 season.
