The football documentary Last Chance U returned to Netflix for its third season last week. Who are the most exciting players from Season 3?

Not much is the same at Last Chance U  for season 3. New names to learn. A head coach to adjust our ears to — earmuffs, kids! Even a new school to root for. One thing is certain: the players are still hungry.

Independence, Kansas is the new location, with Compton-raised head coach Jason Brown leading the Pirates. There’s no shortage of talent for Independence C.C., though.

Brown’s recruited the best available talent, getting 27 former Division I recruits to come play at Indy C.C. He’s extremely quotable, too. “It’s the Jimmys and the Joes, not the Xs and the Os.” Acquiring the talent seems to come easy to coach Brown.

It’s deeper than just football with Brown, though. He pleads in the first episode, “I get a hard on, man — to be honest with you — getting these players graduated and moved on and getting out the neighborhoods they grew up in and getting them a better opportunity.”

While some bought in to the coach’s philosophy, it wasn’t for everybody. Those who did have traveled to greener pastures, including many on this list.
