The third part in the Netflix series “Last Chance U” had a lot of likable players profiled heavily, but quarterback Malik Henry had some issues.

To state that it’s been a long road for the former four-star dual-threat quarterback signee of the Florida State Seminoles Malik Henry doesn’t even begin to describe his journey. Now at Independence Community College, better known as the new Last Chance U, Henry might be looking at his next shot at a Power Five opportunity.

After not getting signed as a JUCO quarterback in the 2018 recruiting cycle, if Henry is looking to make his way back to relevance in the FBS landscape he’ll need to return to ICC this fall. Henry was rated as a three-star dual-threat JUCO prospect for the 2018 recruiting cycle. That placed him as the second best dual-threat JUCO quarterback in the nation.

Due to a suspected injury at the end of the 2017 regular season, Henry actually sat out the last contest in favor of backup ICC quarterback Drake Smith. There were some questions throughout Part 3 of the Netflix series Last Chance U as to if Henry was actually injured or if he could’ve played through it. The injury was to his ankle affecting his drop back and footwork.

Considering he didn’t sign with any team following the 2017 NJCAA season, Henry doesn’t really have a set path from here on out. He would need to get some offers soon in order to make his way back to the Power Five.

Here’s a look at the journey for Last Chance U’s ultra-talented quarterback and what his next steps in his football career could look like.
