10. Mississippi State (Nov. 10)

Mississippi State is a dangerous team, returning nine starters on offense, including a talented Nick Fitzgerald under center. Furthermore, Joe Moorhead, the newly hired coach, provides an extra spark and excitement to the team after a disappointing last year under Dan Mullen.

The Bulldogs also have a few standouts on defense that can cause havoc for any offense. Defensive Tackle Jefferey Simmons and Linebacker Montez Sweat can significantly slow down the run game for even the best rushing offenses.

In recent years, Mississippi State has played Alabama well and this year will be no different. Alabama will be banged up after a tough game against LSU and tired deep into the season. It is hard to win every game, and this one will end up being just outside of the reach for Alabama. Naturally, following their first loss on the season, the quarterback controversy will arise once again.

Final: Alabama 27 (9-1) – Mississippi State 30
