Florida State Football: Ranking 2018 opponents by difficulty
Hosting Northern Illinois in Week 4 will break up three ACC road games, starting with Syracuse the week before and being followed up by Louisville and Miami, respectively.
This will be a nice change of pace from the tough ACC schedule though the Huskies did finish with eight wins a season ago. They return eight starters to the offensive side of the ball which ranked fourth in the MAC in scoring and just ninth in total yardage per game.
Sophomore quarterback Marcus Childers is back after passing for 1,674 yards and 16 touchdowns last season as a freshman. Two of his leading receivers, Spencer Tears and D.J. Brown, are also back to five the offense a boost after averaging less than 200 yards per game through the air.
Childers is the lead returning rusher, putting up over 470 yards and five touchdowns on the ground last season but his running back will be first-year starting junior Marcus Jones who had 350 yards and three scores on 4.2 yards per touch.
Defensively, the Huskies bring back six starters to a unit that ranked No. 1 in the MAC in scoring and total yardage allowed, so this could give the Seminoles a slight test.
