Devell Washington, WR, Bay City (Mich.)

Devell Washington is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide receiver from Bay City Central. He is a guy who is very familiar with the Michigan State football program, the nephew of Spartan great Charles Rogers. Washington is an electric playmaker who already features a 4.5 forty, something not common for guys his size.

I caught up with Washington after his visit to see how the visit went and what it meant to get an offer from Michigan State. “The visit was great, and I’m just so happy that I received an offer, especially that it came directly from coach D.” On what coach Dantonio told him he liked when he gave him the offer “he loves that I’m a high character person. He also likes that I’m a playmaker that can stretch the field.”

I talked to him about his relationships with the 2019 instate commits who were also on campus and he said “Tre Mosley  Michael Fletcher and I are cool. We chatted a little bit about playing together.” He also let me know that the success Michigan State has had with landing and developing a lot of the instate guys is huge for him, and really important in his recruitment.
