Texas A&M football has climbed the mountain and now owns the No. 1 2019 class in the country according to ESPN’s class rankings.
The 2019 Texas A&M football recruiting class has continued to pick up steam. Entering the summer in the top five of the national rankings, the Aggies have picked up commitment after commitment on their quest to reach the No. 1 spot in the national ranks.
One after another Texas A&M bested national recruiting powers for the pledges of guys like Erick Young, Bobby Wolfe, Isaiah Spiller, Jeffery Carter and Christian Harris. Jimbo Fisher and his coaching staff aren’t batting 1.000, but they’re as close to perfect as could have been imagined when Fisher took the job last winter.
With numerous head-to-head victories over Nick Saban at Alabama, Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma and Tom Herman at Texas the momentum in Aggieland continues to build. The latest shot across the bow to the school in Austin came on Monday evening when 4-star wide receiver Dylan Wright, a longtime target of both Texas and Texas A&M, became the latest to join the Aggies’ 2019 haul.
As things currently stand, Texas A&M has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, per ESPN.
Wright announced his commitment via social media, boosting the Aggies further up the charts and into uncharted territory. He marks the 14th blue-chip recruit to commit to Texas A&M in the 2019 class and the 18th Texas native to make his pledge to Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies.
The direct impact of Wright’s commitment produced a result that was unfathomable to Aggies as recently as last fall. As things currently stand, Texas A&M has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, per ESPN.
ESPN differs slightly from the 247 Composite rankings, the industry standard. Those ranks put the Aggies mere percentage points below both Alabama and Georgia in the 2019 ranks. Whether they’re first or third, Texas A&M is in uncharted territory. Buckle up Aggies, this is going to be a fun ride.
