Wide Receiver

Starters: Ahmmon Richards, Lawrence Cager, Jeff Thomas

Backups: Brian Hightower, Darrel Langham, Mike Harley

When Miami puts only two receivers on the field, the starters will be Ahmmon Richards and Lawrence Cager. The picture gets a little more cloudy with three receiver packages but Jeff Thomas put on quite the display as a true freshman. Richards, although injured most of last season, averaged 18.3 yards per catch while Cager caught three touchdowns and Thomas averaged 22 yards per catch in 2017. That’s an explosive trio and possibly the nation’s best.

Brian Hightower is a true freshman that dominated the spring game and will be on the field when Richards needs a break. He has size and speed with a basketball players vertical jump ability. Darrel Langham proved to be a clutch player in 2017 while Mike Harley started his career slowly but has elite speed.

Even with the departure of Braxton Berrios, this is as elite of a group of receivers that Miami has had since the 2002 season.
