Big 12 football boasts a handful of college football’s best wide receivers. How do they stack up against each other heading into 2018?

Six teams in the Big 12 – Oklahoma State (first), Oklahoma (third), Texas Tech (ninth), West Virginia (13th), Baylor (24th) and Iowa State (30th) – finished in the top 30 for passing yards per game last season. With the returning crop of talent at the wide receiver position, don’t expect things to change anytime soon.

Marquise Brown (OU), Gary Jennings (WVU), Denzel Mims (BU), David Sills V (WVU) and Steven Sims (KU) highlight the Big 12’s returning weapons at receiver. All five finished in the Top 10 for yards per game averages in the conference a season ago. Along with those guys, we’ve got a handful of others to rank.

We’ll kickoff the list of 12 best Big 12 wide receivers in a minute, after giving credit to a player who was in the shadows in 2017.

Honorable Mention – Tyron Johnson, Oklahoma State

Johnson played in 10 games for the Cowboys in 2017 after transferring from LSU. He only managed 18 receptions, 293 yards and three touchdowns as an afterthought in the passing game, but with James Washington‘s departure Johnson should assume a larger role within Mike Gundy‘s offense/

Washington is the Cowboys all-time leader in receiving yards (4, 472) and is top 3 in nearly every other receiving category. With an improved role in 2018, Johnson could blossom into one of the conference’s best.
