Notre Dame Football: Fighting Irish primed for 2018 playoff run
Heading into the 2018 season, Notre Dame football looks to make a statement as they set their eyes on their first College Football Playoff berth.
After finishing 4-8 in 2016, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish bounced back with a 10-3 season, finishing 11th in the final AP Top 25.
During the 2017 season, the Irish built an impressive resume with three wins over top-tier opponents by 20 or more points. But with these big wins came some embarrassing losses.
After suffering a one-point loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in week two, the Fighting Irish went on seven-game winning streak before losing two of their last three games of the regular season. In their two losses against the Miami Hurricanes and Stanford Cardinal, Notre Dame lost by a combined total of 79-28.
Despite the ending, the 2017 campaign should be considered as a success; a success that the Irish will look to build off of in this coming season.
