In 2017, Michigan State football made 2016 look like a fluke. Can the Spartans build off that momentum and contend for a Big Ten Title in 2018?

One of the most improved teams in 2017 was the Michigan State Spartans. Following a berth in the College Football Playoff in 2015, the Spartans followed up with a disappointing 3-9 season in 2016.

But last year, the Spartans got back on track, finishing 10-3 (7-2) and 15th in the AP Poll. After their success last year, expectations are high heading into 2018, as the Spartans return a combined 19 starters on both sides of the ball.

The Spartans are going to be a good football team this year and with their non-conference schedule, should get off to a great start. Unfortunately, Michigan State plays in arguably the best division in all of college football, the Big Ten East. With games against Ohio State, Penn State and in-state rival, Michigan, the Spartans could have their season end up in two completely ways.

With that being said, let’s take a look at the Michigan State Spartan’s 2018 season.
