According to a recent CBS Sports poll of the most overrated and underrated coaches in the country, Alabama football’s Nick Saban was called a cheater.

Nick Saban has been dominating the college ranks for years. In fact, he has a 132-20 record in 11 years at Alabama which is an unheard of record given the fact that some coaches lose 20 games in 4-5 years. He averages less than two losses per season.

There’s a reason he gets the top recruits in the country to buy in to his system — it’s because he’s been a proven winner since the beginning of his career with a 223-62 overall mark.

Everywhere Saban has gone, he’s had success and that’s also helped him land some of the nation’s top talent. If you can win at Toledo, you can win anywhere.

However, according to a recent anonymous CBS Sports poll from a fifth of college football’s 129 active head coaches, some aren’t too pleased with his coaching tactics. One coach blasted Saban despite being widely considered the sport’s best coach by a wide margin.

Just check out what he had to say about why he gets the top players in the country:

"“If you had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country every year [you’d win like Nick Saban]. He shows up at every single game with a better roster than the teams he ‘s playing. … If you count cheating and getting the best players in the country as part of running a program, he’s the best in the country. It’s like saying an NFL coach is the best coach in the league if he gets 25 first-round picks every year.”"

Can we consider this shots fired even though the coach was anonymous? What we do know is that there’s someone out there who isn’t too pleased with Saban whether it’s a long-time rival or maybe a former assistant of his.

Saban’s ability to land the nation’s top recruits with ease usually comes with plenty of question marks, but this raises even more.

Is this the type of quote that can force an investigation into the program? Probably not, but this is an eyebrow-raising quote if I’ve ever seen one.
