Clemson Football returns a loaded roster with national title aspirations in 2018. Here’s how the Tigers’ depth chart projects entering the season.

Clemson football will have one of the most talented rosters in college football this season. Led by top 10 recruiting classes for the better part of the last few seasons, the Tigers have talented stacked at every position.

As players and coaches are in full swing for training camp we go over what the depth chart is shaping up to look like at the start of Week 1.

Quarterback

Starter: Kelly Bryant

Backup: Trevor Lawrence

As the Tigers look to get to the College Football Playoff again in 2018 many fans will be looking at the quarterback position as its present and future collide.

Kelly Bryant did a good job leading Clemson in his full season as a starter even if the numbers didn’t do him justice. The only number that really matters is how many W’s you end with every season.

Bryant will enter his senior season as the leader on the depth chart in this quarterback race, but Trevor Lawrence has the opportunity to play early and get meaningful reps in games.

We saw in the national title game that if a quarterback struggles and a head coach needs to go to a true freshman to light a spark under the team, it can be done successfully.

I think unless Kelly Bryant starts the season off red-hot and is a Heisman Trophy front-runner he will have a hard time keeping Lawrence off the field.

This is a position that is very deep and extremely talented and will be a strength of this offense.
